Who We Are

The Ridgely Lions Club has served the greater Ridgely, Maryland area since 1954. The club raises funds through various events and then donates the proceeds to worthy local causes and to identified charitable activities of the International Lions Club.

What We Do

Membership

People are invited to contact any member about joining the club. Prospective members can attend a meeting, talk with club officials and can seek to apply for membership. The Ridgely Lions meet at the Ridgely United Methodist Church meeting hall on Central Avenue in Ridgely on the second and fourth monday of the month at 6:30PM.

Local Activities

Each year the club leads programs associated with Halloween, Easter, Christmas and Memorial Day, along with other events. During early December the club places decorative lights in Ridgely. A Lions Club parade celebrates the season and brings Santa Claus to a special “Santa House” next to Town Hall.

Strawberry Festival

The club hosts the annual Ridgely Lions Strawberry Festival on the Sunday of Memorial Day Weekend. The event includes a parade, food and exhibit vendors, live music, rides and games for children, crafts and the famous Ridgely Lions Strawberry Shortcake. The event is free of charge for guests. Sponsors

The Ridgely Lions seek partnership with every local business. Most of the local businesses support the club in some manner. In return, the club’s events help the town, including attracting as many as 5,000 people to the Strawberry Festival.
